چکیده

Motivated by baterryless IoT devices, we consider the following scheduling problem. The input includes n unit time jobs $$\mathcal {J}= \left\{ J_1, \ldots , J_n \right\} $$ where each job $$J_i$$ has a release $$r_i$$ due date $$d_i$$ energy requirement $$e_i$$ and weight $$w_i$$ . We to be slotted; hence, all related values refer slots. Let $$T=\max _i\left\{ d_i also an $$h_t$$ value for every slot t $$\left( 1 \le T \right) which is harvestable on that slot. Energy harvested at slots when no executed. objective find feasible schedule maximizes of scheduled jobs. A if $$J_j$$ in its corresponding $$t_j$$ $$t_{j} \ne t_{j'}$$ $${j} {j'}$$ $$r_j t_j d_j$$ available before least $$e_j$$ To best our knowledge, are first theoretical aspects this In work show following. (1) polynomial algorithm have identical $$r_i, d_i$$ (2) $$\frac{1}{2}$$ -approximation but arbitrary (3) An FPTAS (4) Reductions showing variants problem one attributes or not $$\textsf {NP\text {-}Hard}$$

Dispatching Equal-Length Jobs to Parallel Machines to Maximize Throughput

We consider online, nonpreemptive scheduling of equal-length jobs on parallel machines. Jobs have arbitrary release times and deadlines and a scheduler’s goal is to maximize the number of completed jobs (Pm | rj , pj = p | P 1− Uj). This problem has been previously studied under two distinct models. In the first, a scheduler must provide immediate notification to a released job as to whether it...

Real-Time Traffic Management to Maximize Throughput of Automated Vehicles

Given an arbitrary number of automated vehicles, the researchers designed an algorithm to maximize the number of possible lane changes on an arbitrary segment of a highway at any given time. The proposed algorithm utilizes information such as vehicles’ positions, speeds, and time slacks to make judicious lane change decisions without requiring prior knowledge of traffic patterns or unnecessary ...

Online Scheduling of Bounded Length Jobs to Maximize Throughput

We consider an online scheduling problem, motivated by the following online auction setting. A non-storable perishable good is produced at a regular rate. It has to be sold immediately to customers whose offers arrive on-line. More formally, we consider the online scheduling problem with preemptions, where each job j is revealed at release time rj , has processing time pj , deadline dj and weig...

A Note on Scheduling Equal-Length Jobs to Maximize Throughput

We study the problem of scheduling equal-length jobs with release times and deadlines, where the objective is to maximize the number of completed jobs. Preemptions are not allowed. In Graham’s notation, the problem is described as 1|rj ; pj = p| ∑ Uj. We give the following results: (1) We show that the often cited algorithm by Carlier from 1981 is not correct. (2) We give an algorithm for this ...

Preemptive scheduling of equal-length jobs to maximize weighted throughput

We study the problem of computing a preemptive schedule of equal-length jobs with given release times and deadlines. Each job is assigned a weight, and our goal is to maximize the weighted throughput, which is the total weight of completed jobs. In Graham’s notation this problem is described as (1|rj ; pj=p; pmtn| ∑ wjUj). We provide an O(n )-time algorithm for this problem, improving the previ...
